Pitch altering effects will add or alter notes in the signal path depending on which pedal type is being used.

1. Octave pedal double or halve the signal then adds it back it to create simultaneous notes octave above , octave below, or both 
2. Octave Fuzz - a fuzz pedal with added octave up. This sound was made famous on Purple Haze by Hendrix
3. Pitch Shifter - The pitch shifter is one of the most versatile effects in the pitch category. It can be used on a foot pedal for up and down pitch shifting (dive bomb) or a pedal that can detune all strings at once. This comes in handy instead of using a capo or tuning low for modern death metal. 
4. Harmonizer takes the original signal and adds in shifted pitch. A great example is the opening lick by Prince in the song "When Doves Cry"

Finding a really good CHEAP pitch effect is a tall order so therefore we do not carry but just a few pedals in this category.
